At Beacon interiors, we take pride in our quality control processes.
In the field of construction, project planning and consideration of all details, both small and large, is of paramount importance. Furthermore, being that our product(s) are typically in use on a daily/weekly basis, as well as a visually appealing finish product, quality is key. Beacon interiors, as a smaller WBE business, ensures this quality control through a multi-phase process which takes a top-down approach. This means that ownership and high-level management are highly involved in the entire process, from procurement, to punch list. Throughout this quality control plan, you will notice two reoccurring themes - Involvement of Ownership/Upper Management, and a team approach.

Bid Process
Beacon interiors is very selective in choosing which projects to bid. Rather than submitting blanket bids across the NYC area, Beacon focuses on certain projects in which they feel the GC/Developer/Sub-contractor vision/expectations aligns. This allows for Beacon to focus more attention to each bid and ensure that all scope items & details are accurately addressed. Although this may put a ceiling on sales, it ensures quality. All bids are reviewed by ownership and upper management to ensure a complete and accurate scope. Spending additional time in the early stages of the project, thereby benefits all members of the project team, including the General Contractor and the developer. These benefits come in the form of reduced change orders, reduced mistakes, and overall cost savings.
|
submittals
All submittals are reviewed by the entire Beacon project team. This ensures that all scope items are reviewed and cross analyzed by the bidding, project management, installation, and ownership/management team(s).
|
Material Logistics
Depending on the project requirements and logistics, all materials can be delivered to the Beacon Interiors studio, or directly to the project site. Regardless of the delivery locations, all materials are inspected immediately by a Beacon representative. This ensures quality, craftmanship, and accuracy.
|
production proccess
Beacon Interiors still handles a good portion of the product finish work in the Nyack studio, in many cases, by hand. This provides attention to detail that is hard to come by. Extra care is taken at the studio, in a controlled environment, which provides a high-end finished product.
|
Construction Process
Beacon Interiors oversees and manages all the project installation directly. Each project will be reviewed by ownership, both on-site and that the production studio. Standard project management processes include oversight by project management, installers, and ownership. All subcontractor meetings (both safety and general) are attended by either project management or ownership.
|
inspections
All inspections will be handled by both project management and the ownership team. Quality control inspections and walkthroughs with the General Contractor occur throughout the product to ensure transparency, clear communication, and attention to detail.
Reports are created that document the installation and progress throughout the project. This allows all Beacon team members the opportunity to review the project for quality control purposes. |
Punchlist
Being that Beacon interiors provides a visually appealing product that will also be used daily, it is imperative that a thorough punch list must be assessed and addressed. The entire project team works on the punch list together to ensure that all items are complete. Detailed reports and photos are generated on each project to ensure an impeccable final product.
|
closeout documentation
All closeout documentation, warranties, product guides, installation manuals, and documentation are kept on file with Beacon Interiors to ensure availability should they need to be referenced in the future.
|
safety
Safety is a top priority at Beacon Interiors. All team members go through required safety & OSHA training at Beacon Interiors. All on-site safety meetings are attended by Beacon Interiors. Strict adherence to each individual projects (As each project is different) safety standards are reviewed and incorporated into the plan by the project team.
